Just how delusional do you have to be to claim gen IV was good? It was an uninspired, sluggish piece-of-shit that introduced nothing but furry bait (Lucario, Lopunny etc).

It almost killed the franchise, and yet people defend it to the death. I don't get it.

What made gens 3, 5, or 6 more important than gen 4? Gen 2 is probably the only gen that introduced as many changes and good things as 4.

i really fucking loved it. felt new at the time. i liked the new pokémon, i liked most of the music, darkrai, regigigas, arceus, the psychic trio, and cynthia. i actually have enjoyed playing gen 4+ more then when i played earlier gens when i was younger. i'm a loyal pokemon fan, i love all of them.

It didn't introduce any major new mechanics, but it was a better game overall. The presentation was great, the story was almost good, and limiting the regional dex to 150 new critters made it a breath of fresh air for people who aren't hardcore fans of the franchise.

I suspect everyone just gets tired of Pokémon at some point, and blame it on the last game they played. You got tired of it around gen 5, and many others had their hiatus around gen 4.
