>>17646978As a professional programmer, I can tell you there is a massive time overhead simply to learning how to get basic things working in new dev environments. XY probably suffered a lot from just trying to get a functioning game to work on not only a new hardware device, but also using 3D models instead of everything being sprite based, on top of trying to figure out the system for projecting the 3D effects.
In fact I'm not convinced they ever DID figure out the 3D properly, considering 80% of the game isn't playable in 3D, and the small portions that can be viewed in 3D suffer painful slowdowns.
