For example it mimicking different things in order to look threatening to different species in particular, which may or may not give it a beneficial typing towards it.
Beyond it turning into an Arbok to scare a Raticate, though, I have no idea how to make that work.
Also it's a real shame we'll never see this little guy in an actual pokemon game. It seems like it would look awesome in 3D model format.
