Crobat sounds good against traditional Whimsicotts, with taunt and whatnot, but would probably kill a Special Attacker just as easily.

my crobat runs bravebird and taunt with infiltrator to get past substitutes
252 attack 252 speed
he works great so I though he was somewhat standard

How do you guys go about team construction? I'm building a team, and I have a lot of IV bred EV trained Mons to choose from.

All I know right now is that I want Volcarona and Venusaur, and that Volcarona requires Spinner/Defog support. I have an Excadrill and a Mandibuzz, so that won't be a problem, I'll just pick one.

Where do I go from here?

It's actually really good. FS is a 120 base power STAB Psychic move now, so it's quite powerful. Even took down a Chansey with it.

It's really useful earlygame. Throw out a FS as your opponent switches in a check, then switch to something else. chances are whatever's in two turns later won't want to take the attack.

First thing to consider is Singles or Doubles?

Volcarona is a lot better in the sun. Non-Mega Venusaur pretty much requires the sun, and Mega-V can benefit from it because of synthesis. You should consider adding a Drought pokemon - Heat-rock Ninetales, or Y-Zard if you are not using Megasaur. If you're using a doubles team, a Heat-rock Prankster with Sunny Day could also be fun.

Mandibuzz and Venusaur are both very defensive. Volcarona, as well as both Ninetales and Yzard, are Special Attackers. You're going to need physical sweepers next. Pick whatever you like best, that fits well with the team and covers your weaknesses. You've got two slots here, so there are plenty of options.

Not sure haven't played against him in a while, but he would paralyze with togekiss switch to him, and just stall. As soon as you get rid of substitute he would protect, and since you're paralyzed, you will always move last
