>>17688602 I haven't narrowed down all the movesets, but talonflame, lucario, and rotom-cut are conventional with no surprises.
My Sableye set is the only surprise. I run it with special defense EV's and Snarl. This allows him to take a dazzling gleam from *mega gengar* and snarl back, dealing roughly 40% damage and lowering gengar's special attack enough to be beaten by recover + leftovers. I slowly recover up until I can snarl again. This forces gengar's out.
Tyranitar will have stone edge, pursuit, stealth rock, and probably earthquake. That is the only big big weakness of the team I think; no ground STAB.

>>17688637 Even when I put a giant disclaimer explaining that I made 17 karenfag mono bug team sin a row and I haven't even made a serious team in XY yet, people still bitch. What am I going to do? Unless you are saying that my team is weaker because it's predictable this way.

>>17688564 If you're using Choice Band on Talonflame it probably wouldn't be a good idea to have Tyranitar as sand along with recoil damage would quickly accumulate, try having using Life Orb/Sharp Beak/Sky Plate with Roost instead
Nate !AfagtF18t2
>>17688652 So why not just be a dick and use Mega Gengar with Perish Song and Protect and Disable?
Like, Im fairly certain that Mega Gengar was pretty broken, only having like 2 situational counters
Anonymous
>>17688655 Mega Gengar has no counters at all because of shadow tag; your "counter" pokemon will never meet Mega Gengar in a battle.
I use Mega Lucario because it's also good and can outspeed Mega Gengar if it comes in to mega evolve.

>>17688639 Here's my two cents:
I agree with
>>17688593 that Greninja is a little redundant with Lucario and Rotom-C being solid Special attackers already. If you really want a STAB Earthquake, consider Gliscor. It'd also help to have a purely physical wall and something to run Toxic. I've noticed Lando-T makes a great partner for TTar, and the Intimidate boost helps to phase threats out.
Your team also has situational weaknesses to Terrakion, and can get walled by Ferrothorn and Clefable. Sure, Talonflame could kill Rocky Helmet Ferrothorn, but it wouldn't survive SR after all that residual damage. Not having a spinner or defogger also limits Tflame's effectiveness, which leaves you hurting against steels... I'd run Fire Blast on TTar as opposed to Earthquake, and run another poke instead of Greninja for the Ground STAB.
At the same time, you could swap out Talonflame or Rotom-C, keep Greninja with Ice Beam and Extrasensory for M-Venusaur, and use the open spot for something with STAB Earthquake.
>TTar tends to get burned a lot, so non-boosted Earthquake is kind of a bummer. Anonymous
>>17688690 Thanks a lot. I thought I needed Greninja because without him, I have no ice move, so gliscor + dragons are a real problem... I don't think I can replace him, or I need to replace him with Mamoswine or something and change team around.

>>17689130 A common problem with Trick Room teams, huge weakness to Dark and Ghost. You should try adding Aromatisse in your team: Fairy-type so it resists Dark, decent bulk, slow, and has an ability that makes it immune to Taunt, allowing it to act as a very good Trick Room setter. Not only that, but Aroma Veil also protects team mates from Taunt, so it's very useful in Doubles and Triples. You can use an offensive variant and just Protect during the first turn while your other Mon sets up Trick Room without having to fear Taunt.

I also like to have Night Shade on Dusclops, just in case. I haven't experimented with Infestation though.
Avalugg is generally a better physical wall than physical attacker, and I can't see him doing well in VGC where most spread moves (with the exception of Earthquake) are special.
>All these dark weaknesses Sucker Punch is remarkably common and bypasses Trick Room.
Also I don't into competitive much, but iirc VGC is extremely fast paced and very offensive oriented. I'm not so sure stall tactics (Dusclops and Gourgeist) would work very well.
Anyway, goodnight wfg.

Overall, the things that shut me down the most were Spore and Bullet Punch users. At the start of making the team I almost considered making a mono-ghost Trick Room team (with Mega Banette as sweeper)

Two Shadow Punches also deal more damage than one Phantom Force. I would swap Golurk for Crawdaunt and Dusclops or Gourgeist to Aromatisse so your team would gain a little bit of Dark and Ghost resistance. It's also generally a good idea to have something in your team that isn't completely dependent on Trick Room, such as priority users. Crawdaunt is a good choice for here too since Adaptability Aqua Jet hits really hard and allows you to clean weakened opponents even without Trick Room.

Greninja @ Expert Belt
Protean, Timid, 252 Sp.Atk 252 Spe 4 HP
Grass Knot
Scald
Ice Beam
Dark Pulse
Greninja to lead, takes out half the teams in Maison by itself, great at revenge killing things later on.
Garchomp @ Choice Scarf
Jolly Sand Stream 252 Atk 252 Spe 4 HP
Earthquake
Dragon Claw
Rock Slide
Crunch
In game bro so no IV breeding, just retrained EVs after the E4, much weaker than it should be. Still was able to take out many opponents, and acted as a good switch in to electric types that might survive greninja's attacks.
Eeletross @ Lum Berry
Adamant, Levitate, 252 HP 252 Atk 4 Def (I think, although I may have more invested in defense)
Wild Charge
Crunch
U-Turn
Coil
Comes in on EQ and any moves that Greninja/Garchomp can't take along with most status, was very tanky for me in maison (despite its ~100 def and sp.def), after a coil nothing survived unless it was a ground type.
The team had immunity to EQ and immunity to Electric on switchin, it had immunity to psychic on switchin or protean shenanigans, it had a lum carrier and both physical and special sweepers. If I had focused it would have gone far, I am planning to rechallenge later in the week. Hope this info helps you, every team can be better, but maison can be conquered.

So I'm a bit new to competitive battling. Is there any way to make Dragalge a useful special wall?
Joni 1521 - 2878 - 5294 (IGN: Kawaii)
>>17690941 Dude, that's not even possible anymore. You sure you've checked everything? I mean, there's an 80% chance of the female passing down the ability, so the probability of getting 86 eggs with the wrong ability is around 7,7 x 10^-59%, or 0,000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000077%. You do realize that there's no way that's possible.
Anonymous
>>17691003 Dragalge has fairly low HP and fairly low SpD for a special wall. His lack of reliable recovery also prevents him from being a solid special wall. You'd be better off with something like Florges.
Ethan 0275-7479-9528 !EdnaJooO.6
>>17691048 >I mean, there's an 80% chance of the female passing down the ability, I don't think this is true for HAs. At least not in gen 5, but I'm pretty sure it's the same in gen 6.

>>17691003 I think it gets acid armor and toxic spikes as well as poison point/touch so if you bred it to be calm it could be a decent special wall but nothing spectacular. resists a few types though being dragon so you can use that to your advantage

>>17691075 If you can stand the ugly flower she's a great choice competitively. Amazing special defense with the ability to wish pass, use aromatherapy, and stop dragons in their path.
Renegard !mFennEkIN6
>>17691003 Dragon Tail and Sludge Bomb can work everywhere, you can either add another coverage move/Protect and Toxic Spikes or use a Rest Talk set. 248 Hp 68 Def 192 SDef, Sassy (though Calm works too), Adaptability.

>>17691083 I might consider trying it eventually, then. I really like Dragalge's typing and design, I want to make it useful. But that base HP is a real killer.
>>17691095 Yeah, her design is pretty much the only reason I'm hesitant, but I GUESS I can live with it.

Joni 1521 - 2878 - 5294 (IGN: Kawaii)
>>17691103 >It's down to 60% for the HA. Oh, then the probability of getting 86 wrong eggs is "only" 6 x 10^-33% or 0,000000000000000000000000000000006%. Still, there's no way that's possible.
