Forgive me, I fell asleep last night early and couldn't watch the thread. Here we are with the continuing edition of /vp/ creates a pokemon! For those of you just joining us, we are in the process of coming up with visual concepts for a Ghost/Rock dinosaur pokemon (likely undead or skeleton, etc. etc.)

Any idea what was the first dinosaur that went extinct? We can try using that for the species
Anonymous
Quoted By:
>>17739291 that depends on what you classify as dinosaur
easier to narrow it down to a period

Tried some kind of tar plesiosaur with rock bones and stegosaurus-like spines that resemble mossy tombstones.

I don't have any artistic skills, but I thought this
extremely uninspired and obvious design is pretty cool.
>>17739363 I like this one.
Anonymous
Quoted By:
>>17739564 cool
give it gooey maybe?
Anonymous
bumpo
also, seconding this
>>17739363 its normal appearance could be a wasted ancient krater floating, with a gaseous body coming out of it, kinda like pic related
Anonymous
Quoted By:
>>17739363 while cool, is definitely not a dinosaur
especially when that existed only 50,000 years ago
Professor Colonel Sanders
>>17739564 Not gonna lie, I really like that! However...
Why is it a mix of stegosaurus and plesiosaur?
Anonymous
>>17740393 Just to make the back a little more interesting.
Can it not have small parts from other dinosaurs while still keeping the main focus on one kind?
Professor Colonel Sanders
>>17740432 I didn't think of it that way, being it could be multiple animated bits from other dinosaurs that were stuck in the tar
Anonymous
Anonymous
>>17740393 >>17740432 >>17740455 I think IF we're going with that (genius) idea, we should go a little bit more crazy with it, i.e. give it a second, different tail and have a raptor skull stick out of its stomach somewhere. You get the picture.
Anonymous
>>17741024 >>17740455 make them random bones from diferent dinosaur, and have part of other fossil pokemon among those bones, like a rampardos cranium
Anonymous
>>17743175 the spikes from rampardos's head could be inspired by the stygimoloch, a dinosaur who's name means "demon from the styx"
if we're going to be using random bones from different dinosaurs, this could work out fine.
Anonymous
>>17743780 not sure I like the idea of using a another pokemon's bones. I think something more original is in order in terms of bones
Anonymous
>>17744094 Made something up. I tried doing one that used the bones of prehistoric pokemon, but it just didn't turn out well.
Anonymous
Quoted By:
>>17745285 not a huge issue, but is there a way to make it look a little more like a ghost/rock type? It looks more flying/posion as is.
Professor Colonel Sanders
>>17745285 check and see how it looks without the arm bones
Anonymous
Anonymous
>>17737194 >Holy Bleeding Jesus you autists suck at pokemon creation Just start the fuck over because Goddamn. Better yet just never do this ever again.
Anonymous
>>17745669 Neck and tail look unnatural. The back bones are protruding from the tar but the vertebrae are flush with the goo. Why? I think the bones should be wider than the goo neck and tail.

>>17747223 I'd imagine they probably would too, but this was just just a quick concept drawing. If somebody with a better program wants to try drawing it, they can.

My original idea was a ghost that is inside of a rock that's shaped like a skull. We can rework it so the skull is a T-Rex skull and not a human skull.

>>17745669 I still think it looks a little bit too "natural". I'd seriously like to see it be a bit fucked up anatomically.

May not be entirely link to this thread, but awhile ago, I made a Fakemon inspired by another Fakemon (

Includes normal and shiny forms.

here is your evening bump, gentlemen.

Drew up a quick concept sketch, I think it needs more rock-ish features, it looks more like a ghost/flying or ghost/psychic or something. Any suggestions?
Anonymous
>>17759808 Why does it have an owl face?
Anonymous
>>17759861 Because owls are cool
Anonymous
Quoted By:
>>17759808 That's fucking sweet. I could see it as being a stall pokemon, give it insane defense and sp defense and a ghost type version of leech seed and it would be horrifying. I like the owl design but it doesn't really look like it would be a rock type
Anonymous
>>17759808 I don't think it really looks like a pokemon. Come to think of it, neither does
>>17751067 . They both look like bosses from a Zelda game or something.
Anonymous
>>17759968 But that's not even a dinosaur
Professor Colonel Sanders
Quoted By:
>>17760118 does that key pokemon look like a pokemon?
FUCK NO
Anonymous
>>17760622 It wasn't supposed to, it's just a speculative ghost type. Why don't you draw something up and contribute to the thread
Anonymous
>>17751067 Yes, I understand that you spergs are beating off to your space sperm pokemon just because it's your shitty creation.
Anonymous
Anonymous
>>17760959 Dude, seriously, why are you even here? Just leave.
>>17758808 So sad we never got to finish it.

>>17739564 Looks like a ghost/water, not ghost/rock

Quoted By:
>>17760986 If those are yours then good on you. I'm still sticking with my design, a prehistoric bird fossil fits the bill pretty well I think
Anonymous
Quoted By:
>>17761273 i'm poisonally getting a poison/rock vibe from it
Anonymous
Quoted By:
I think something like a nargacuga dripping in tar with the skull and wing bones exposed would look good, maybe keep its glowing red eyes too
Anonymous
>>17759808 Drew another one, not really a dinosaur but it makes a good ghost/rock type.

kids shitposting? If you don't like concepts thats ok, there are some I like and don't like as well. I can understand why some would get a poison/rock feel from the tar pit pictures, but thats likely because he colored it purple instead of black.

I see more than one idea for a ghost/rock thats an actual rock, but I have to reiterate to you guys that the winning concept was a ghost/rock dinosaur
Anonymous
>>17765859 Kind of funny how not a single dinosaur has been posted in this thread at all
Anonymous
Professor Colonel Sanders
Quoted By:

>>17739564 are dinosaurs, or rather, that concept is a ghost grabbing different dinosaur bone parts and creating a body made from tar
Remember it doesn't necessarily have to be GHOSTLY for a ghost/rock. Golurk is ghost/ground and there is really nothing ghostly about him.

Time for an afternoon bump. I'm not letting this die. Enough people wanted me to bring this back so I did, I'm not giving up like I did with bug/water, dammit.
Anonymous
>>17775134 Fine, i'll try and draw a concept.
Give me until midnight.
Anonymous
>>17775134 >>17775160 Great news. I really think we have a concept going with our tar saurus, although I still suggest making it more crazy (yeah, I'm that guy).
I think we need more concept evolution now, drawfaggotry is needed.
Anonymous
>>17775582 I'll draw something up, although I don't like the Plesiosaur design. I'll keep the basic concept of possessing fossils but with a different type of body. I like the concept
>>17759808 has with bones floating around a ghostly ball thing, think I'll go with something like that
