Imagine a GTS that wasent flooded with 7 year olds. Imagine if it was filled with actual reasonable offers.

Now seriously the only saving grace of the GTS as of late for me have been the reasonable starter offers as well as /vp/'s giveaways and multibattles. Otherwise I wouldn't try again.

The biggest issue is that there's three dozen entries asking for Mew, Arceus, Darkrai and every other thing it is literally impossible to give. You shouldn't be able to ask for event legends or impossible level ranges.

That's hardly helpful. If I want to trade for a "special" Pokemon, Giratina for example, it's perfectly reasonable for people to ask for another "special" Pokemon, perhaps another Box Legendary. In fact, if you search for Giratina and exclude "special" Pokemon, there are literally 0 results.

On the other hand, people being able to ask for something that you literally cannot trade them is asinine.

While we're talking about the GTS, I wish they included a way to search for Pokemon by their moveset (like trying to find a Charmander or up that knows Fire Punch). Otherwise, I'm screwed with trying to raise a good IV Mega Charizard X with various contact moves.

Also, Trade is also quite inconvenient. Where a random person wants to trade with me, they show a Pokemon for trade, and I'm stuck trying to figure out what exactly they want (assuming they're not just looking for legendaries, or shinies).

Not OP, but I think that since Magnemites can only be found when breeding for them, some people are too lazy to go through that process. So, they throw whatever Pokemon they have at their disposal.

Even legendaries.

If you have reasonably good offers you get reasonable results. Caught a lampent and evolved it, asked for a honchcrow, got it in 3 minutes. Repeated the process with about 40 final evo mons, never hung on to a traded mon for more than 30 seconds.

Lucked out with Braviary and Klinklang, someone asked for starters for them. Had the full dex about 2 days after finishing the legendaries.

You don't even need to breed a bankmon. If you can only catch the evolved form in X and Y, you can trade the babies for whatever the fuck you want.
This goes double for things with good Egg Moves or HAs.

eh, i was offering iron fist/thunder punch chimchars for reasonable bankmon and got nothing for days. unless people actually were hoarding glameows and finneons without breeding them, then that makes sense

and then the second i lied about the IVs and asked for a legendary, some dumbass takes the bait, which i then used to leverage an unreasonable trade for a pokemon that i wanted

Not trading for any legendaries atm, just some Pokemon you wouldn't normally find in X Y or evolved Pokemon that require either using or trading with an item (like Rhydon into Rhyperior while trading with Protector).

I have been going alphabetical over the last 5 days or so. If I don't have it, I put up a leftover from my MM attempt. A few cycles later, check, get your shitty trade, release it, put up the same mon requesting the next in the alphabet.

I'm up to L now.
