Mike and his team were just getting the last of the POWs in Sootopolis evacuated. They'd barely managed to avoid the guards while the Black Mage opened a portal to the Distortion World. Having just gotten away, it was now up to the wizard to guide them to the Pokemon Center. Once they'd secured that building, they could continue the war effort from there. Now they just had to get there...

Well, he would liken it to an old book he read once. Wherever they wanted to go, effectively, was down. Advanced maneuvers would have to be learned on the fly, like changing gravity so you don't crash into things at terminal velocity.

Meanwhile elsewhere in the Distortion World, the Missingno. and several other glitches were carrying the island the other refugees were on towards the destination. It was simply easier than trying to communicate.
