Wow… I finally quit dicking around breeding and playing with different pokemon and continued the story… Beat Team Flare, the final gym, the Elite 4, the champ… AZ. I gotta say that everyone, yes, everyone — from the final gym onwards — had the most forgettable and walk-in-the-park teams I've ever encountered.

The Team Flare boss was an interesting character, his 2.0 team with the mega etc. But the E4 and the champ and also the final gym were just… a massive let down. I swept them all with a calm mind Klefki holding an amulet coin.

I know that this game is supposed to almost be a reboot for the series, designed to be soft on new players… but the ending just seemed kind of rushed and flaky. Also, overly heart-string twanging, when it had the potential to do something really rad — a 3000 year old giant called AZ, and his team didn't even make an impact on me?

I mean, for cereal, what gives GameFreak? Where did you go wrong?

Any other anon's feel totally let down by this travesty of a mockery of an ending?

I actually liked the ending. The Elite 4 and Champion were total shit. But I liked AZ and his story.

Out of interest, no obligation to answer truthfully —how old are you?

Also, can you honestly remember his team off the top of your head without having to look it up? I have a good memory, all I remember is that his team was small and weak.

What, AZ's team? I remember a Torkoal and a Golurk. I can't seem to remember his third 'mon though.

AZ's team was cool because it was all Pokemon that could get really old like him without dying. He probably got sick of losing his Pokemon all the time

WTF is with the ever presence of torkoals in this game? I seem to remember the E4 having a torkoal and potentially, although I may be wrong, one of your companions also? If it wasn't it was an ace trainer or a veteran in the victory tunnel… but still

I wouldn't have remembered Golurk though. - But I liked AZs ending as well. It was like he just threw a team that lives long together in the last minute, because you inspired himto become a trainer.

The thing is, I don't feel his battle was supposed to be hard at all. It may have made him a bit more forgettable, but that is aided by the fact that it is the very last fight in the core of the game, one that happens even after the Champion has already been defeated.

I guess the battle was supposed to be somewhat "feelsy." And I can understand why most people didn't get that feel from it; GF didn't pull it off exactly well, but I still feel there was a bit of an emotional intention to that battle there. Of course, this is all headcanon, so don't take it as if I'm saying it is true.
