Not to be rude, this is only my third weekend, do we normally start Friday afternoon?

After getting a shiny lillipup and chansey while using an FS for MAD EXPERIENCE to finish dex entries, and accidentally a shiny 5IV misdreavus while MMing those as a joke within 3 boxes, I am now working on SHINY MODEST PROTEAN FROAKIE with no egg moves. 60% chance gonna make this a hell of a ride.

5IVs all where they should be. Hatched with Wonder Skin, but that was quickly corrected.

Just yesterday hatched a shiny Gastly after 18 eggs. I was blessed by Masuda even though I wasn't mming, just trying to get good IVs.

The gastly is timid and has 31 in all but speed...which is 9. Can't win them all.

Yes, my shiny Deino hatched in Snowbelle City, not on Route 7. I was going to call it Kiwi, but after realizing it was my 777th egg hatched, I called it Lucky.

You could even say I hit the jackpot.

I really wish that it highlighted the patch of ground underneath pokemon as you targetted tthem in hordes so you could tell what was going on, also that it highlighted it when they moved/their abilities trigger etc.

well the problem with that's is that I've already given away the females as I've gotten them. First one I kept, second one was traded away in the shiny threads, third one went to Kaitlin, fourth one went to Lycanbelle, fifth one was traded away to another person in the trade threads, sixth went to a girl named Gina, seventh went to one of my friends, and the last one hatched went to a guy in these threads... At least in pretty sure that's the order.

While I'm sitting here hatching a few hundred frogs and hoping for the best, I'm working on my desire to build an entire team around the Rain weather effect. I don't like Politoed so I guess I have to use Rain Dance for it.

Any suggestions for pogeymans to put on this team? I definitely want to get Hurricane and Thunder in for that accuracy boost, and I want to have decent coverage, maybe something with Dry Skin like Heliolisk?

More related to the thread, I've taken up releasing any Torrent froakies, so when I wondertrade it'll just be proteans everywhere.

use friend safari dittos and power items until you get parents with 3ivs(non overlapping) each. Then get rid of the power items and use destiny knot. Check ivs as you hatch and replace the parents with better ones til you have 2 5ivs.

you can also get lucky and get a good foreign 5iv parent of gts/wt. Otherwise you're probably gonna have to ask someone to flip the language.

Hey, Shiny Hunters! Liz here with an update on the status of litwick eggs. So on monday I was able to hatch a Shiny on my 6th box, egg #159, but it had Flame Body and had a spread of 31/x/31/x/31/31.

So I started hatching again, and, again, on my 6th box, this time egg #163, I got a second shiny! I lucked out because it had Infiltrator and its spread was 31/x/31/31/31/31! Now I'm debating on what to call her. She was a female, and I settled on Chandra (like Chandra Nalaar, huehue) for now. Still looking for a better name, or naming convention, though.

Anyways, now I'm on Venonats, I'm on my 13th box, and I've hatched 360 eggs so far. I'm not as lucky with Venonats...So how's the hunt going for all of you?

No "New" shinies from me this week unfortunately, still haven't got cyndaquil.
Spent all my free time EV training one of the shiny Feebas I hatched on Monday (two in a row!).

But thanks to a kind 4channer called Hirari who has a japanese 3ds with the bank, I managed to get hold of 3 of my favourite shinies all caught on my Soul Silver game.

I still have more to trade up but these are the ones I really wanted to get traded.
Also got my Manaphy and Darkrai but they aren't shiny.

Pic Related, my shiny totodile Waylon, who only took about 300 SRs, Lugia who took about 800, and Mewtwo who took so many I lost count. About 3 weeks of soft resetting for him in total.
And also a pic of my shiny Milotic, now EV Trained to max in Defence and Sp. Defence. I

No idea on average, but I have been trying to get a cyndaquil for almost a month now, 115-120 boxes of nothing.
BUT, last monday I tried feebas instead. Trying to get a 6IV mostly, I set up two boxes of eggs.
Ended up hatching 2 shiny feebas in a row on the second box.
So you can never really tell when it'll happen.

I like to get a box full and fly to Lumiose, that way I can faff about on here or watch something on my TV while I hatch. It's slightly less efficient, but helps me keep track of exactly how many eggs it takes to hatch shinies, and it is more fulfilling to me.

But just running back and forth on Route 7 and hatching eggs one at a time with a full party of eggs and a Talonflame, is more efficient, i've seen. I tend to do it on the bus rides to and from university, so maximize my hatching time!

So I never bothered with Shiny Hunting until today that I decided to come to this thread and got a little inspired to try it.

My only question is: How the fuck do you get the motivation to go for boxes and boxes of hatched eggs? Aside from being somewhat impatient, I tend to lose faith rather quickly. I could probably go for no more than 3 or 4 boxes of hatched eggs before giving up. Tell me your secrets to not lose the willpower to do this, /shw/.

So I can confirm it's a nightmare to get shinies you really want, and quick to get ones you don't want quite as much.

Have you guys caught/hatched few enough shinies that you can remember the amount you've gotten, and the order you got them?
For me it went:
1. Fraxure in FS, gave it away
2. Spinarak from MMing, took ~2,200 eggs
3. Mareep from MMing, took probably <200 eggs
4. Scraggy from horde, gave it away
5. Nincada from FS while searching for a Sandshrew, sweet a 2 for 1 with good IVs
6. Sandshrew from MMing, took too many eggs to count
7. Psyduck in a random horde while trying to spread Pokerus to Sandshrew, gave it away
8. Litwick from MMing

445 ingame hours, have never found a shiny in another game (aside from radar chaining in platinum). Also over 5,000 eggs hatched.

Now I'ma casually try for a Whimsicott.

I've attempted MMing in all my games since SoulSilver, but didn't get a shiny from it until Y.
To be honest I thought it wasn't really worth it, and would just randomly get inspired, do 2-4 boxes of some Pokemon, and then get discouraged when I didn't get results.
When my shiny Froakie hatched on box 5 though (actually more like 25, since I had MM'd various mons before), I just got really motivated, and now I have like 10 shinies from MM!

As other people have mentioned, having something to listen to/watch in the meantime is an absolute must in order to keep sane.

Its only in X with my Feebas that I have ever been successful. I got two in a row on the second box.
Before that I had hatched 115+ boxes of cyndaquil and got nothing, so my faith is restored, and I am back to cyndaquil (or will be soon).

And I think what motivated me to go that far is really just these threads, and my anger at never MMing a shiny before. I was adamant I would get one, and I am still determined to get that cyndaquil even though I have successfully mm'd something else.
But having something to watch/listen too and being in these threads to chat and see other inspiring shiny hunt definitely helps a lot.

I prefer to fill 4 boxes of eggs at a time, then hatch them. I guess I just like keeping track, and as you say, the full boxes of eggs DO make you feel like you have a greater chance at a shiny. To me that feels encouraging, but yeah, that's just me

I don't know if it's more efficient, but I always use level 2, sometimes I manage to hatch a full batch before it runs out

The shiny espurr MM I did a while back was easily my longest one. Took me about two months on and off. Was in a skype call with my best friend with it happened. I just gasped really loud and started laughing uncontrollably, and so did she. I swear she's my good luck charm, because out of the 5 shinies i've MM'd, i've been in a skype call with her when 4 of them have hatched.

I was playing x and y with some friends in early december, one guy had been trying for ages to get a shiny growlithe, so we bought a load of party poppers in case it happened that night.
It didn't, but I caught a shiny charmeleon in Friend Safari. It was the most unexciting encounter ever though, I was looking away with the sound off so missed the shine, and when I looked down it took me 2 minutes to see it was shiny.

Oh my god, My Beldum was at like 7AM. It was actually funny, when he texts me my phone makes Charizard's In-game sound, and it freaked out this girl in front of me. Going slow today, about 5ish boxes into froakie, had to sift through the early generations getting better breeders out of them, currently using a 5IV and hoping I might ever get a 6IV to speed things up further, setting aside 5IVs with dropped atk for trading off later, everything else is going into derpboxes for wondertrading.

The name of the game is the naming convention for my Team that will have 1 Pokemon from each Generation. So far the team consists of Venomoth, Chandelure, and Sableye. Possibly Shiny Noctowl too, since it's my favorite Shiny!

I got three whole shinies this week, guys.
The first was a moon ball Gastly when I was just breeding for IVs for the Battle Maison. Fortunately it had all flawless IVs except for a 3 in HP
The second was a Porygon which I gave to my friend because it had all flawless IVs except for Attack, and had an Adamant nature when the very next one had a Bold nature and looking at the damn thing made me angry
And finally, I just hatched myself a Rotom last night after about 5 boxes worth of hatching. It has flawed Speed so I was pretty happy with that too. 2 out of 3 ain't bad I guess.
Any suggestions on what I should MM today? I was thinking of SpookyTree, but I'm not sure.
