Why do people hate this thing? Personally, it's one of my favorite Pokemon. I know it's just a non-ghost type Froslass, but it's a bit bulkier (albeit slower). I just never got why people preferred Froslass to Glalie.

Because it has an amazing movepool for a lead and the typing and speed to pull it off.
It's the only ghost that can spin block its own hazards and has cursed body, switcheroo, spikes and taunt. It's rarely outsped and does its job very well. It isn't meant to be a hard hitter.

Going first is pretty important, especially when you're frail.

They could probably do what they did with Blastoise and make it keeps it's bulkiness (or give it a fuckton more in Glalie's case) and give it a huge boost in attack/special attack. Again, it still wouldn't be very good because it would make normal Glalie useless and only useful for it's mega evo.

At any rate, Medicham and Heracross were extremely similar, each having maybe a handful of things that could ever switch in safely. Heracross probably got b& because it was really bulky, too.

This is Gardevoir -to- Gallade kind of situation.

One is a waifu tier pokemon that has the superiority in usage assured on looks alone. The other is irrelevant on the grand scale, so it merely exists until GF forgets about it.

Kind of like Cartoon Network's practice: either you are the next big thing or you land in the dumpster.

I like Glalie, but it will stay an underdeveloped shitmon forever.

Froslass is just a better Pokemon all around. It has great Speed, Taunt, Spikes, Destiny Bond, and a Ghost typing to block Rapid Spin. Also, the extra Speed lets it shut down other leads (most notably Smeargle) by using Taunt on them, and getting Spikes up while they either damage it, bringing it down to its Focus Sash, or switch out. I use a Froslass, and I honestly think it's one of the best suicide leads in the game. Fuck Smeargle, Froslass laughs in its face.

Only the present is relevant, past is not.
Going "[pokemon name goes here] was better than [currently superior pokemon] before [insert gen]" is a perfect way to goad people into elaborating on ones faggotry and to rub the current inferiority of that obselote master in the face.

Regular Gardevoir is a decent UU pokemon while Gallade is a RU trash. Who cares what was 'before'?
