Why aren't more people using Bisharp? It has great defensive typing and pretty good stats. Once you set it up with a substitute and a swords dance it's fucking unstoppable, yet no one ever uses it.

It would have lost him Aegislash and Talonflame, and left his Lucario weak, but he could have taken it out if he hadn't tried to set up on a Sub'd +2 Bisharp.

Though I had a hilarious sweep where I switched him into Clefable's Moon Blast, got the +2 boost, then swept an entire team.

I would not say that Dark/Steel is a great defensive typing considering it is 4x weak to fighting and is weak to fire and ground, but resisting dragon and ghost is pretty okay. Also, it is very much stoppable, considering that it is going to have a hard time setting up and even when it is set up, it gets revenge killed fairly easily by a priority user, considering how many priority users will be faster than its sucker punch.

tl;dr Bisharp is okay, but not as good as you think.

It rapes unprepared teams but if you know what to expect it's easy to stop before it sets up. Although once it's set up with a substitute and even just one swords dance, it's scary as fuck. Nice predicts on his Greninja and Aegislash by the way, kind of fucked up with Greninja later though

More people ARE using Bisharp though. It's a huge threat in UU, and it sees more than a little bit of usage in OU now too. The ability to discourage defog and sticky web just by existing and no longer being walled by steel types are huge bonuses for it this gen.

Dark resist is pretty highly sought after, if you ask me. He also doesn't mind losing his items from another knock offer, and takes little damage to boot.

Really, I would say Bisharp is almost a better Mega Mawile. Sure, M-Mawile has higher attack, but his sucker punchers are a lot stronger, and he gets knock off, which deals good damage AND can cripple switch ins, even if they resist. It can also swords dance just as well, and with defiant, any team running sticky web is at a huge disadvantage. Bisharp also doesn't take up a mega slot.

People are using it. It's very good. It's at the very top of UU and will go OU once people stop being dumb and use it more.

Smeargle goes UU (ideally, RU,) and Bisharp goes OU. That's what should happen.

Bisharp checks Aegislash, hard. It's faster and ignores King's Shield.

He was retarded for leaving Aegislash in, though.

Oh yeah, Bisharp is definitely better than M-Mawile almost all of the time. I was really hyped for M-Mawile because it looked incredible on paper but ended up being really underwhelmed when I used it myself.

Not to say Bisharp is bad, as a matter of fact, he will definitely be OU this generation. With the amount of defog users and intimidate spam, it's very easy for Bisharp to get that boost and then sweep. On top of the dark buff along with knock off buffs.

He has lots of checks and counters, though, so that really keeps him down from being super duper overpowered..

Bisharp is best with swords dance as it is able to OHKO almost everything, even if they resist it. Swords dance, sucker punch, iron head, and sub is the best way to go. Sucker punch allows you to counter sweepers without losing your substitute, which is the most vital, and with one or two swords dances you don't need to worry about the extra damage knock off gets, or the resistances to iron head. Bisharp hits fucking hard, you can easily 2HKO a Ferrothorn with iron head and it resists that

If you misplay and Bisharp is running sub, you could be fucked. If it has Low Sweep over Iron Head, you could be fucked.

Knock off cripples switch ins, Sucker Punch is resisted by two types, and he has iron head for fairys.

Haxorus is not really comparable to Bisharp, and is in most cases worse either way.
