I'm trying too hard to breed more than one set of IVs on my Mudkip.

First, I tried breeding Ditto's Health and Defense IVs with a Mudkip with Defense IVs, and I'm getting Defense IVs only.

Then, I tried breeding my Mudkip with a Wartortle with Defense and Special Defense IVs, and all of my babies came out with random IVs and "But how could you go into battle with a Defense stat like that?" from the IV-checker in Kiloude City.

I've been giving an Everstone to my Mudkip (to pass down its Impish nature) and switching between Destiny Knot and Power Items to pass down IVs. All I keep getting are either Defense-only IVs or babies that are too retarded to have Defense IVs.

HELP.
