I'm pretty sure it does affect the shiny hating rate.

The last three shinies I hatched were way faster than the ones I hatched before I got the shiny charm.

Depends on the hatch times, running back and forth to the infinite circle every time you get a batch of eggs takes far longer than collecting a box, flying there and moving to the pokecenter in the loop when your party hatches

Even so, remember you may not get so lucky and have to fill up and hatch between 33-50 boxes before you find your shiny. Then you have to do that again for EVERY FossilMon. Not to mention that O-powers need to recharge. Either way, SRing will only ever get you a trophy shiny.

5 times the chances of getting a shiny single with SC.
Last time I made the math I think it's around 1/200 or 1/300 or something. Extremely high chances, but then you have to factor no places has a fixed horde so you have to multiply by the pokemon variety of the area. Which is sadly hig for mareep.
So yeah, you will get a shiny, but the chance it will be your mareep are low.

I gave up on Fletchlings today and settled with EV training a 5IV Adamant Gale Wings. Getting a proper 5IV Gale Wings one every couple of batches or so really hurt my motivation because I kept thinking of how I'd feel if I kept going and got a Big Pecks one with 3IVs or something ;__; maybe I'll go back to it when I finish training this one up so I have a backup plan. Staraptor was my favourite 'starting bird' for a couple of gens but I think Talonflame may have dethroned it! In any case, you can't go too wrong with Close Combat + Brave Bird and Reckless (until you take a hit).

this week i got a japanese rufflet in a wonder trade

i figured i like this pokemon, so i breeded it yesterday

turns out i got a shiny rufflet in my second batch of eggs completely by accident, i was flattened

it has 150+ DV and a perfect attack DV,

never hunted or breeded for shinys on purpose and its my first shiny in over five years but i guess this little chicken will now be an asset to my team

its level 71 already
