Hey /vp/
So, this past year I convinced my older sister to buy a 3DS. She hasn't had a hand held since the GBC, so it had been nearly 15 years since she played portable games. She now loves her 3DS and plays it all the time. For Christmas, I got her Pokemon X since she wanted it. She had seen me playing and was swayed by the graphics. Petty, I know, but it made me happy regardless. I've always wanted a sibling to play Pokemon with. Growing up, my brother and sister didn't play many games, least of all Pokemon.
So, she progressed through the game as normal. Right now, she has around 40 hours into it. I've been coaching her the whole time since she is basically a newcomer to the series.
She finally decided to battle me once all of her main game Pokemon fully evolved. Not wanting to be a dick, I also used my in-game team instead of my competitive one. Well... I still whooped her hard despite going easy and everything; she only managed to kill my Glaceon because I let her. Now she refuses to battle me even with handicaps and me offering to use bad Pokemon. Partly because she doesn't want me to go easy on her, and partly because she think I'm 'too good'.
I'm super bummed. I was hoping to have a battle buddy, but now she won't even consider battling me. ;_;
Any of you anons share my pain? Having a friend/sibling finally show interest in Pokemon but they refuse to play with you because you're 'too good'?
pic kind of related. My sister loves her Blastoise.
