then it dawn on me, that the klink line is a gimmickmon in the same vein as plusle and minun. i guess the thought process behind the designs is that klink, klang and klinklang are suppose to be in double battles together with other klink, klang and klingklang.
aesthetically, it makes sense, since they're gears. imagine multiple of these pokemon interlocking themselves and becoming stronger by becoming a larger mechanism.
stat wise, it makes some sense as well. the line has a larger movepool on the special side. and when klnk, klang and klinklang are in a double battle with each other, their special attack goes up by 1.5x because of plus/ minus. thus making their special attack not only usable, but stronger than their attack stat,
that is until they use shift gear.
its a cool feeling to figure out something makes complete sense on different levels
