Always thought they should've been the first pure Flying, with Altaria maybe retconned to Flying/Fairy. They feel more like air elementals compared to all the Normal/Flying generic birds (minus Doduo/Dotrio).

I would say weak to flying, poison, and steel, and strong against fighting, bug, grass. It makes sense thematically, but that looks really similar to Fairy imo
