Did Whimsicott get buffed this gen?
Here's my setup.

5ivs/Bold/Prankster
252/hp/252def/4spdef
U-turn/Encore/Taunt/Stun spore

Just have to find two other pokemon to play randoms with now. How can I make a viable team which includes whimsicott?

Get some Defensive/SpDefensive pokemon to eat some attacks becuase Whimsicott is frail as shit (Cotton Guard helps a bit). I'd say that Rotom-W and AssVest Goodra are pretty safe to switch into.

The only notable weakness it gained was Steel. You were pretty much dead from a Poison attack anyway.

The only weakness that's been added is Steel, and Poison was hardly kind to Whimsicott or Cottonee in the first place. Its defences and resistances aren't exactly Amaura-levels.

Most fire types form a good core with Whimsicott, especially Heatran

Also set-up sweepers that you could U-Turn into when your opponent is Encore locked. Pick something that becomes a huge threat after a single turn in like Blaziken, Talonflame, Lucario, Thundurus or Azumarril

It's even better if they switch, because switching takes priority over U-Turn, and therefore you can see their switch-in before choosing yours.

Almost uninvested Fairy 'Mon could batter the bejeesus out of Hydreigon. You may have no EVs in Sp. Atk, it still has a quadruple weakness.

Whimsicott ain't that good at Subseed since grass types wall it the instant they switch in. The only two notable attacking moves I can remember that it has are giga drain and moon blast. It's just a waste of time trying to subseed with Whimsicott is what I'm saying.
