>>17832959>God in Gen4>mythical beings of life and death, one of which is a Fairy-type deer, in Gen6>sci-fiI feel more like the odd-numbered generations, in addition to being greater leaps forward in quality, have more of a modern/sci-fi feeling, while even gens have more mysticism and tradition to them. Gen3 less than the other even numbers, but even it had an extraterrestrial with a DNA theme hanging around.
>>17833489I have to disagree with you about X/Y. X/Y is what happens when The Lazy Song becomes a development theme for an entire generation, in my opinion. I was far more focused on my first
Y playthrough than on my first
White playthrough, not because of any perceived quality but because March 2011 was far more eventful for me than October 2013, and I still remember more moments from Unova than from Kalos, not to mention cared more about the story. You wanna know the moment I cared most in Kalos? Searching for a Ralts in some tall grass, specifically for a female, having hit two Ralts in like an hour both of which were male, while watching Power Rangers Megaforce, looking at Gosei and asking him to send me a Ralts, quickly correcting myself to female Ralts but too late because I ran into like four male Ralts in a row, and thinking to myself "Zordon woulda given me a female". Seriously, that's it. My best Kalos memory was about exasperation and frustration. I WILL agree that B2/W2 should have been better, and wasn't nearly as good as B/W, but I'll also say that there's almost nowhere they could have gone with Gray that they didn't cover in the first two, largely because they didn't hold anything back the first time through Unova like they'd done in Sinnoh and like they'd later do in Kalos, so Gray would have been far more redundant than Platinum was or than Z will be, and thus the sequels were their best option for making more money off of Unova before moving on.
