Eurofag here.

So if I want to get Celebi and don't even plan on using Bank to transfer anything, what do I do? Do I have to pay anything at all or can I just go download it right now and get Celebi?

just got a celebi with the trial. Not sure how much pokes you need to unlock it but I transfered 2 boxes from BW myself

When you load bank and get into it fully, you'll be given either 100 Pokemiles or 10 BP.
Choose it, go to X/Y and select Pokemon Link at the file select.
Then use Bank to transfer once (uh oh OP) and you'll be given the Celebi to Pokemon Link.

I'm unsure if you actually need to transfer, thinking about it though

You only need to connect the bank with the game 2 times, even if you don't put anything.

I don't have BW2 and I got a celebi with no transfers

OP just do this:
>Download pokebank
>accept the pokemiles/BP
>Go into X and Y and recieve the BP/pokemiles from system link
>Exit and go back into pokebank
>Use pokebank again, and you'll be given Celebi
>Go into X and Y again, and get Celebi from system link
