Wifi Issues

Since Bank is out now I figured I'd use PokeGTS to generate some Pokemon. To get them I have to change my system's DNS settings, but doing so immediately stops my system from being able to connect to Nintendo wifi.

Anyone know what to do?

Black 2. When my DNS is set to auto-obtain it can connect to wifi with no problem.

When I follow PokeGTS instructions though, my system can't connect to the internet at all and keeps saying it failed to get an IP address

Are you sure you're changing the DNS and no the IP? It's a common fuck up.

Definitely changing the primary DNS. When I do a connection test it seems perfect but then no software can connect online.

No software can connect online because you're not using your routers DNS. Just boot on your B/W B2/W2, upload the mon onto PokeGTS and download it onto your game...rinse and repeat. After you're done, you can turn DNS back onto Auto-Obtain. And make it's the primary DNS you've changed and nothing else.

Pretty sure it's 3DS, I've used it before and it worked.

It's not just B2 though, its the 3DS itself. Changing the DNS settings to anything but auto seems to simply block it from the internet and somehow mess with the IP.
