I hope this is trolling.
They're not gonna just say "ooh everything looks good" and flip a switch and launch the thing in their second fucking largest market.

yurop isn't as big as compared to the NA market. They're still testing it to make sure it doesn't crash the servers. If they just went to NA, they probably would have had a hell of time making sure it worked ok, and then everyone else would have to wait for probably a month.

This way, when it comes, it'll be the final test for stability and ensure that it wont just be getting blasted by people.

I hate waiting too, but I know why they're doing it. The big problem here is that they've been silent on all fronts about telling everyone ELSE why they're doing it.

They just keep saying, "Soon," and nothing else. They are a giant global corporation with their reputation on the line. The "Nintendo experience" lately has just been "PREEZE UNDASTANDU" and "we'll get around to it when Iwata stops jerking off to pictures of the Wii."

They could just say, "We'll be done in a week," or, "We'll have it out before the middle of March." Just say something other than "soon."

It's painfully obvious that they're doing slow releases in other markets in order to make sure the eshop doesn't get fucked over again.

Releasing it in yurop was logical because it's a smaller market. They can continue stress testing in order to make sure that when the final block (aka, NA market) is added, the whole thing wont come apart.

Like I said, if they would have launched it in US today, it'd have probably been a wait of a few weeks for "normal" usage to come and then to release it for EU.

On one hand, obviously they can't just say "it'll be out on X day" and then they launch it and something happens. What they're doing is launching, then posting about it it.

On the other, I hate that they haven't said anything else besides "soon". In the least, they should have been posting every other day or at least once a week giving us an update. "testing is going well, we expect to continue testing for X amount of time" etc.

I honestly don't know much about how their things work, but I'd imagine they can't exactly tell if someone is going to be using it for a few minutes or sit there and transfer their stuff all day.

It's probably just not feasible/they're not gonna put the effort into using all their server resources when they may not have to use everything.
