Still half of the time hand outs are the only way you can get that particular Pokémon in the gen they're introduced. Lapras can't be found in the wild in RBY, Togepi can't be found in GSC, Beldum can't be found in RSE, Riolu can't be found in DPPt, etc. I tend to over look it if there's no other way to get one normally.
