>>17879875People like you are the reason I can sweep entire teams who assume they are safe from talonflame because they have Rotom-W.
Your theoryshitting on paper doesn't hold up to actual, fluid battle situations.
Talonflame doesn't talk 2HKO-worthy damage from Talonflame, it's true. However, he can only switch into brave bird 3 times. And if I have an SD up and you decide to absorb a hit by switching in, then your Rotom-W is dead because I have priority on the next turn, you just lost your Talonflame "counter," and I have a +2 Talonflame on the field. Now what?
It's the same for M-Kang and Cofagrigus. Except, there are even issues on paper, in the theoryshitting world. So you switch in on Return, Power Up Punch, or Sucker Punch. Zero damage. He switches out, oh well. He doesn't really care. But what happens if you switch in on an earthquake? This does over 40% damage, easily into 2HKO range if Cofag switches into stealth rocks twice. that's UNBOOSTED.
A good user of M-Kang sees your obvious Cofagrigus switch choice and just uses earthquake. Now what do you do? God forbid he has crunch, although I admit only bad players usually have crunch on their set. Your M-Kang has no recovery and is worn down over time by M-Kang. This is not a counter, it can easily be played around, and does not merit a truly broken pokemon coming back to OU. Sableye does everything Cofagrigus wants to and more, against M-Kang, and that never stopped it from being banned.
