I had no idea what I was doing
went up against the 1st gym with nothing but a charmander, a couple of weedles, and maybe a ratatta
I ended up not knowing how to save at first so I lost that file after the first night
I then played the game with Squirtle
BUBBLE EVERYTHING, WOO
Know how to save, but still don't know where most things are in the game.
In the end, I had Blastoise high enough level to know Skull Bash by the time I got to Lavender Town (though the rest of my pokemon were very under-level)
I didn't have flash so I had bumped my way through the tunnel without it on a bike
And I had forgotten to beat the 3rd gym, so when I realized my mistake I went "no way I'm going through that dark tunnel again" and started the game over
Then I did bulbasaur, actually knew what I was doing
and beat the game, doing a pretty good job at it all around
