I currently don't have them all due to a shitty idea Gamefreak came up with called "Version Exclusive Legendaries"

Anyone who has Xerneas and Yveltatl right now either

I will wait for the inevitable "Z version" before I care about getting Yveltal

So far, I've completed Kanto, Johto and Unova, with only a few evolutions missing from Kalos. My total play time across every game is 282 hours, so I'd estimate completing the entire dex without events takes a little over 400 hours.

Spread out over at least five games, that's not too crazy.

I caught them all except for Celebi, Mew, and Arceus in my White 2. Obviously I have a Celebi now thanks to Pokemon Bank, so I'm going to try to get a true complete pokedex in my Y version.

Did it first time in White 2 in about 9 months and X in 3 months. If there's ever another GTS Negotiations feature in future games, I'm sure I could complete the Dex much faster.

I'm not saying there aren't multiple options. I'm just saying they all suck.

The whole "version exclusives promote trading thing" was a novel idea. But starting with Ruby and Sapphire and version exclusive legends they revealed that they're just full of shit and want us to buy both.

yea idk, I think if you wanted to actually have all the pokemon you just have to do some searching. Quite a few people just don't care about certain legendaries or version exclusives so they are willing to trade them away. Like I really love Deoxys and I had a Pokemon Ranger Shaymin. I traded for a Space Center Deoxys and we're both happy with it. I don't know what to say if you want to literally "catch" them all...but I think it's possible if you make the right trades.

I'm workin' on it. I didn't get the game until Christmas, and I'm pretty busy with college, but I've been catching 10 or so more Pokémon every night that I've had the chance. I'm about half way now, and should be done before the summer comes along. I'm getting there, as legitly as possible.
