Having trouble with my old Kyogre from Sapphire, I'm using Pokecheck to do a Gen 4 to 5 transfer to save time and it keeps fucking up the OT trainer name. It's MARINA, but after I use pokecheck it changes to MARINa (with a full-width a) and gives me trashbyte flags.

No one uses an AR for pokegen.
Most the time it's illegal anyway.
As for GTS distributors, there are a couple.
Pokegts.us is the most common one, Pokecheck if you're ok with that shitty ribbon, Pokedit if you want something easy to use, downloadable GTS distributors like Shiny2, or save edits with dongle.

How are you importing it? As a gen 4, gen 5, or gen 4-5 pokemon? Don't do 4-5, and try 5 if you haven't already.
When you imported it the first time, did it have an invalid trash bytes terminator sequence?

These Pokemon are stuck to your game though and any babies made by them are stuck as well. You can't take them online to battle or trade them, so I have no fucking clue why'd you want one, but there you go.

I use pokedit in my process but it should be noted that if you muck around with it rather than just changing moves/evs and shunting it over, there's a good chance it won't go through. I'm not satisfied with a lot of the default builds so I edit the pokemon on pokedit which does a mostly good job, then I check it, then do any final fixes with pokegen before uploading it back to pokedit and transferring. I don't know if its faster or slower than starting from scratch in pokegen but it's at a level of simplicity my retarded mind can handle.

The 3ds has two different internet settings. Theres one for 3ds games, and shop.
And the other is strictly for DS games.
Change the DS one for pokecheck/gen/whatever.

You don't even need to do that, if you register an account you can upload .pkm files directly for checking. Don't use it to receive pokemon because it places a ribbon on all downloaded pokemon that marks it as hacked.

Setting 0x42 to 1 sets the hidden ability flag (without it the Pokémon can't pass its hidden ability through breeding and loses it when it evolves), setting it to 2 gives it the entry animation of N's Pokémon, and setting it to 3 or more gives it both. Setting 0x87 to 255 gives it the Pokéstar entry animation. Pretty sure the rest don't do anything. And I believe both entry animations are removed on transfer so they're useless anyway.

Bisharp didn't exist in 4th gen, so it may be rejecting you because of that

Azumarill however can be caught in a moon ball, but it can't have any egg moves to get by. If it's still not going through something must be wrong with the encounter details

I've done a little more research and apparently later DS games (I'm using a copy of black 2) SHOULD be able to connect to a WPA2 router. The console itself is connected to the internet just fine, but when I get into the game and try to enter the GTS it says no access point available.

Yes, I'm using a 3DS XL and have tried using my original 3DS, but am still getting this issue. All of my 3DS games connect fine. I've tried all of my gen 5 games and none of them want to cooperate.

My laptop broke so I can't gen my own stuff for a few days, but I figured out by going to the pages on my phone I can still get the stuff via gts. I tried googling the stuff I wanted but so many retards put 255evs in each stat and illegal moves and cherish ball it's crazy

Alright, so i've got my DNS set on both the DS wifi settings and the 3DS settings.
I have uploaded this barbaroach .pkm I made on pokegen as a test to see if I could get it through several times, entering the GTS reveals nothing different, just the standard 'Deposit, search, ect.' screen.
Also, I tried Pokecheck first with the same results. That script you can run on the front page revealed that it was being blocked by my ISP, so I switched to pokegts.us in the hopes that it wasn't. Any thoughs?

I don't think Bank checks trash bytes so you don't have to worry about them. The nickname is one character over the limit, but since they increased it this gen it might not be an issue (if it still doesn't pass when you've fixed everything else, make sure the name is 10 characters or less).

For the PID, I'm assuming you used the PID finder, which is actually only for gen 3 and 4 mons. Delete the PID and re-save the file, it should generate a valid one automatically.

Encounter type is also only for 4 mons, gens 3 and 5 use Egg/Pal Park/Event by default (why it's not the default in Pokégen I'll never know, would save a lot of people trouble).

your firewall may also be blocking the connection, if you're using a local program. i use ir-gts for b/w.

Oh, well there's your problem. Anticipation is the Dream World Ability so an Eevee you capture in Castelia can't possibly have Anticipation, or Wish as it's an egg move. You need to edit this Eevee so it looks as if it actually did hatch from an egg. Also, encounter type isn't set for Gen 5 Pokémon.

How does pokemon transfer work? Does it just pull pokemon out of the game's boxes like bank does?

There are no external tools in place for gen 6 yet, and pokebank is one way from gen 5 where those tools do exist. Best you can do is use a reset bag to clear the EVs, then use an IV calculator. If its <Lv50, go to the battle institute in lumiose and check the stats once you're in a level 50 battle. (save first then reset out)

Are you using the ID/SID for gen 4? If not I'm honestly not sure but its entirely possible to manipulate your IDs in gen 5 (I've done this myself)

The only thing it could be marking it as illegal would be that 1) there is an impossible shiny spread for your IDs in gen 4, 2) the ID/SID combo you have has an impossibly high frame/delay you have to hit.

Nevermind, fixed it. For future reference, it seems like all gen 5 pokemon use the egg/palpark/event/honeytree option.

That still doesn't help me with gen3 clefairy's illegal ball option though. I'm pretty sure premier balls existed in Fire red.

I haven't got a link, but just set an Overgrow Snivy's Extra Bytes 66 (0x42) to 1.
PokéBank will accept it as a normal Snivy, then X/Y will produce a Contrary Snivy, as its extra bytes say that it has its HA.

Just make sure to use the trash byte exploit and it should go through perfectly.
Apricorn balls may be iffy, but IIRC you could get a lure ball through.

Unless I missed something, the only shiny mew you can get is from gen3, so you'll need to make a gen3 pokemon. From emerald IIRC.

How to steal a Pokémon off of Pokécheck and make it "yours."

Step One:
Download a Pokémon off of Pokécheck that you want.

Step Two:
Edit it have your name, ID, and Secret ID. Pokécheck does identify if a name, ID, and Secret ID is valid, so making up these will affect validity. You may also edit the EV's and moves at this time without having to deal with an invalid PID. So choose your Pokémon from Pokécheck carefully.

Step Three:
- Upload on Pokécheck for errors.
>If no error, transfer it with PokeGTS to avoid the Premier Ribbon that Pokécheck tacks on your Pokémon. The Ribbon is not tacked on if you downloaded a Pokémon as a file, only if you have it sent directly from Pokécheck's GTS.
>If there's an error, tweak it and repeat step two. The most common problem is invalid trashbytes.

Step Four:
Use Poké Transfer when your name is edited in it without any error and when you are content with any edits.

Step Five:
-Use Pokémon Bank to transfer it from the Transport Box to Pokémon X or Pokémon Y.

The only problem is that PID stays and that can be searched. You may want to make your Pokémon in Pokécheck to appear private if you want to avoid any possible conflicts. If the name is changed, it will be identified as "unique," regardless of a Pokémon having the same PID as another Pokémon.

I have done this countless times with no problems and I thought /vp/ would love it.

K so as best as I've been able to determine, it doesn't check if the ball is legal on the pokemon. It checks if the ball is legal compared to the location you got the pokemon from. Meaning anything you get via wild encounter or from a wild encounter mod should work.
Few examples being anything bred being flagged as pokeball only, any starters that were actually from their givers being flagged as pokeball only, gift/event/trade pokemon being flagged as whatever their ball is only.

I still need major help with getting a hidden ability Feraligatr with a non-default pokeball through bank. I sent one through with a pokeball just fine. I also sent through a torrent one with a non-default ball just fine, but I can't do both. It seems that adding the extra byte with a different pokeball breaks it.

If someone could make a Sheer Force Feraligatr in a non-default ball that goes through bank and post a link to the pkm file, I would love you forever. Please help me get my bro through, /vp/

Holy shit I tried this too. I tried genning Cynthia's Togepi egg to get better EV's and in shiny, but it sadly would say Illegal PID even though I generated a good PID. Maybe the Legality Analysis for Gen IV is flawed.

Nah it's not that. Chances are your ID/SID combo is illegal for that Pokemon. People in 4th gen used to RNG for specific IDs to catch specific spreads, so I'm assuming PID is tied to ID/SID in 4th gen.

It goes through bank anyways.

Make sure the characters you use match your region's characters.
So use Japanese characters if your region's Japan.
Use Chinese characters for China.
English for NA/UK/most of EU/SouthAmerica.
Russian for Russia, etc.

Don't use the "Upload Gen 4 as Gen 5" option.
