They stopped making cards of Kadabra with the Skyridge expansion, which was released in 2002. It also hasn't appeared in the anime since then. Also, while Abra and Alakazam are present in Ranger: Shadows of Almia, Kadabra isn't.

Kadabra is clearly named after Uri Geller in Japanese. It's pretty blatant.

One of these is the Japanese name of a guy who is famous for bending spoons; the other is a spoon bending pokemon.

The difference in how the two are written is basically a 45 degree angle on an apostrophe. They literally replaced one character with a character that looks almost exactly the same.
