>>17926565>It's a one-trick ponyWhat the fuck does that even mean? Nearly everything is a "one trick pony." Blaziken goes fast and hits hard. Talonflame goes first and hits things. Blissey tanks special attack and is a cleric. They all do pretty much one thing something.
>takes up a mega slotOpportunity cost of the mega slot is only a small factor in ranking a mega. Ignoring the opportunity cost, Mawile is really capable, there was pages and pages of arguments on in the viability ranking thread and everyone agreed is was A.
>Charizard, Pinsir, and Talonflame are much bigger threats, and they destroy mega-waifu.lol'd. Pinsir's Earthquake doesn't OHKO, Mawile's Play Rough has a chance to. +2 Sucker Punch OHKOs all of them.
>50 base HPSame as Rotom-W. Mawile has higher defense and slightly lower special defense. It's not going to be investing in them, but it is reasonably bulky, and is really bulky on the turn it uses intimidate, which gives it plenty of opportunities to set up.
-1 252 Atk Garchomp Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Mega Mawile: 182-216 (59.8 - 71%)
That's a STAB SE Earthquake from one of the best users of it, and it doesn't OHKO. Any other physical attacker that doesn't have Earthquake or a Fire attack is not going to do shit to Mawile, and it gets free setup.
>speedSucker Punch.
>too reliant on Sucker PunchThe only real issue, but it's not a hard move to use.
