We come up with pokemon ideas from animals or objects that you would like to see in a pokemon game.

Hard Mode: Come up with a new ability

I will start.

Capsize feels like it'd do much better as a move, perhaps as a unique Ghost type move that also hits Water for SE damage, like Freeze Dry.

Since it's a unique move, you can boost the damage compared to FD to a reliable 80. It isn't strictly better than Shadow Ball due to same base power and not having the 20% SpDef drop chance, but is by and large the preferred move (as a unique move should be). It also fits in lore-wise, as it wouldn't make sense to make a move that specifically capsizes Waters to do more damage across the board than all the other Ghost moves (Phantom Force is 90 over two turns, 45 per turn).

Granted, Propeller would sound cooler. I think should make it an Overworld ability instead and increase your speed while surfing.

Cool idea on forms but I think the stats should stay the same. Otherwise you would have to have a mixed moveset for it to be effective, but only half those moves would be useable at a time. Seems like more of a gimp than anything, unless it's on a weather team

The idea is to use it in a weather team.
I picture, in-game, you'd have to climb a mountain at some point, and you'd find water forme ones by the river at its feet, and ice forme ones as you reach the summit.
Or implying there were seasons in that game, there'd be a 100% chance of finding ice ones during the winter, 100% for water ones during the summer, and 50/50 during spring and autumn.

I should also mention that when it's on a forme, it's semi-permanent. If you have it in water form, it'll stay in water form indefinitely until you get hit by an ice move, and the other way around.
Maybe outside of battle you could be able to switch formes manually by giving it burn or freeze healing items, like rawst berries and such.

I wouldn't call it 'insanely' OP, there are better abilities (say, Moxie is on a similar level). It's only one stat boost every 3 turns (on average), at the cost of HP loss due to toxic or burn or the chance to not be able to move via paralysis.

Would combo very well with the flame/toxic orbs though
