All the time. I'm not into Jap culture at all really, I don't watch anime or any of that shit, yet whenever that point comes up I'm always reminded by friends that I like Pokemon. Though I guess I'm into the games & competitive, not the anime or the weird side of the fandom, so that's how I justify my side of that.

Nope. Not that it really matters.
Though I remember one thread on /v/ where this dude tried to unironically argue that Pokemon didn't meet the definition of a JRPG. His reasoning was that essentially because Pokemon games don't have good stories and are aimed at children they don't count.

JRPGs have little to do with anime. They might have the art, but that's it. You don't even have to know anything about Japanese culture to enjoy them. Commonly, a JRPG is just an RPG where you are playing a certain character and you go through a set sequence of events. (as opposed to WRPG, where you have a customizable character and you choose how the story unfolds)

The next games actually include a simple bike minigame that's engaging enough for you to want to come back. You can beat your own score and do bike tricks in a track especially designed for this. Your score will be substracted from the remaining steps your eggs have, and double that amount if you have a Pokemon with Flame Body or Magma Armor.

wrpg and jrpgs are both cancer, one just fools the player into thinking they can change the story by having dialog choices and morality system that change nothing.
