I got Pokemon X yesterday. My starter had an acceptable nature, I found a Pikachu with a neutral nature on my second catch, but it took me 2 hours to find a Ralts that didn't have a terrible +attack modifier. Found one with Modest and Trace after catching about 20 of the things.

Is this normal?

Jesus Christ just catch whatever the fuck you want and then use it anyway, natures and shit don't matter. I beat the game far too easily with underleveled shitty mons (Minun, Delibird, Murkrow, Luvdisc, Linoone and Camerupt)

I have the same problem as OP, I try to not care about natures but if I catch things like modest Axews or something I go full autist and either gen the shit out of my team or keep catching Axew until I get a adamant/jolly one.

I don't hunt for optimal natures, but I release and recapture if the nature decreases the main attacking stat.

I normally don't do stuff like this, but I also soft reset for a +attack nature on my Tyrunt. With how your fossil is handed to you, each attempt is like half a minute, so I had a Naughty one within 5 minutes.

/vp/ is seriously shit. You can beat the game so easily and maybe in past years you could have told me you would use EV berries and go back and EV train them so you could use them...but now its so easy to get 4-6 perfect IV Pokemon that its nonsense to do this.

Use the shittiest mons and wipe the floor. The game doesn't start until you beat the Elite 4.
