I play doubles VGA mainly so I find frisk is much more useful than infiltrator, and I have boom burst on mine but I rarely use it, I find myself using Draco meteor and hurricane with flamethrower for coverage much more. Boom rust is only handy in the situational times I need a multi hit move

Modest Noivern's my team's janitor, works ok. Missing Timid stings, and I'm looking at Infiltrator to fuck up subbers since they cause my team problems. Surprise switchering choicewhatever onto what doesn't want it is actually pretty fun too.

I want to use one in my playthrough but 48 fucking levels of Noibat is insane.

Whereabouts in the game will I be around that time if it levels normally? Progress wise or Gym badge wise. I don't know because I actually only have one badge and have only had one since it came out. I've spent my entire time breeding and trading and playing other games in the series.

Boomburst without STAB is incredibly lackluster, even in double/triple battles. Noivern's stats are much more suited to a support role anyway.

It's not about having to "deal with" Noibat if you're talking about stats. Noibat is cute but Noivern is both cool and cute in its own way. It just sucks because not only is Noibat found almost literally end-game but even if you trade for one you STILL can't have a Noivern until almost end-game. Even pseudo-legendaries aren't like that. They're three evos and evolve at the same pace so it's like "hey I'm actually making progress as I level my cool pseudo-friend".

Because it would suck if it evolved any sooner. Why do you think early Bug-types like Caterpie and Scatterbug have such meek fully-evolved forms? It's a trade-off.
