Unless you plan on genning mon, there's no point really.
You can if you want to, but anything legit you will/can get in gen5 to transfer you can just get in gen6 anyhow.

B/W had the best story in the main series, which doesn't sound like it's saying a lot but it really does look like there was some effort put in.

B/W2 takes place 2 years after B/W and ruined the fucking story by making Team Plasma into Team Rocket 2.0

OP, if you really wanna play it, go emulate it. It's not worth the purchase because X/Y exist.

OP you aren't missing anything by not playing BW. BW and BW2 were both great but BW2 was all around better. The missing "story" pieces don't add anything except a boner for N.

This. Don't let anyone's opinions on Gen V make the decision for you. Before playing Gen V I honestly thought it was going to be shit. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it came out with my two favorite games in the franchise.

Moral of the story: play both games and decide for yourself.
