No, I remember those games because I had fun playing them. Leaving features out intentionally just so people can "remember them" is a hilariously stupid reason to leave out features. You want your games to progressively impress players, not piss them off by removing stuff they liked.

Because they would have had to draw all the sprites of all the new B/W pokemon for that, and it was simply too much work for they on top of making an all new area and game, so they decided not to

This pissed me off so much when I finally played Emerald. Take what is easily one of the coolest features introduced in the previous gen and... throw it out. It was only the beginning of the avalanche that was 3rd gen

They removed it because the GBA screen was ridiculously dark and hard to see. A lot of games had increased brightness just to compensate. If they kept the day/night cycle in, it would be pretty much impossible to play the game at night.

There's a museum and in it there's a section dedicated to marine biology and there's this guy and if you bring your Wailord to him he'll be all "holy shit that Wailord is small as fuck whoa I've never seen one so small".

It'll be as if most Wailords are huge as shit but the ones you catch just tend to be small.
