1. To surf, we need a water pokemon. But usually have 6 pokemon in our party; to reduce that number, we need to go to our PC and deposit some pokemon. But that also runs a risk of releasing our best pokemon Pidgeot, who can't learn HM moves except Fly (which we don't want to teach).
2. By sheer luck, we managed to deposit a pokemon earlier on, so we had 5 pokemon in our party. This is perfect, because we can get a Lapras at Silph Co. and bypass all the PC dangers.
3. However, there's a free Eevee that we can pick up. And, despite a large portion of the chat trying to stop it, we picked up the Eevee. So now we're back to Step 1 with 6 pokemon in our party.
Our Plan B now is to deposit one of our pokemon with the Day-Care, which reduces our party size without running the risk of accidentally releasing an essential pokemon. However, this is going to take a while, because there is a ledge right outside the Daycare, and we suck ass at dealing with ledges.
