Probably got one for just about every generation.
Gen III: Whismer. Didn't end up training one until Emerald. Exploud turned out to be awesome. Need to train up another one this gen with all the new moves it has to play around with.
Gen IV: Roselia. It was just there in Gen III, but with Gen IV came Budew and Roserade. Trained up Budew as an early Grass-type, wound up becoming one of the best members of my team. Loved it ever since.
Also Victreebel in HG. Again, obligatory Grass-type, turned out being better than expected.
Gen V: Zangoose. I've always liked Zangoose for its design, but didn't think it would hold up well in battle. Wrong. Absolutely destroyed teams a lot of the time.
Gen IV: Trevenant. Didn't plan on training one originally, but after Noivern didn't meet my expectations I went in search of something else. Trevenant wound up being one of the better members of my team.
