I'm only familiar with the anime.

Seasons 1 and 3 were quite good. Season 2, I enjoyed at the time but in retrospect was pretty bad. Season 4 was just absolute shit, worse than anything Pokemon has ever done. I watched Season 5 but don't remember a thing about it. And I've never bothered with Season 6.

Ok anime. Not that it is really any good, but compared to pokemon it is absolute gold.

The games however are lacking, and a waste of potential: "you know how we keep going on about the mutual partnership thing? One soul, one equal? fuck that, take this team and grind them for competitions. Sort of like pokemon, but not as good".
I'm looking at you Dawn, Dusk, and world 1-3.
But not the fighting game, that shit was fun.

I'll give you the last 4 which is what I meant by minimal (that whole "nod" thing was fucking stupid), but everything else is pretty subjective and based more on cultural difference, which again was kept to a minimum. Even with those into account it's still minimal edits to the script (and I specifically chose to say "script" over "plot" for that reason).

The change in atmosphere is fucking huge, the cheesy puns and changes in the script are everywhere.

They added small shit like the kids singing "Guilmon and Renamon sitting in a tree" when they were discussion the situation seriously.

The only good dub was the german one

Did you like tamagochi as a kid? Well if you did there's Digimon World 1 on the PS1. It's got a awesome OST but there's a couple of glitches you'll have to look out for and you'll have to look up digivolution requirements if you want specific digimon.

However Digimon is the strongest with its anime.

Adventure and Tamers are the only really worth watching if you're not into it.

Adventure is a very straight rollercoaster, simple character development, no big climaxes but constant action and entertainment

Tamers is written by Konaka, aka the guy who wrote Serial Experiment Lain and Texhnolyze, its starts off really slow and awkward with shitton of world building and character development, after the first half it becomes death, madness and mind tentacle rape.

Gameboy games had trading and fighting your friends shit

Digimon came out later, making kids think its a rip off

I watched the first series halfway through as a kid. Thought it was good. Didn't see much of season 2 and 5. Skipped on 4 completely. Watched seasons 3 (Dub), 5 (Sub & Dub) and 7 (Sub) completely. Animes are pretty nice but anything beyond 5 just got weirdly childish as if they forget their audience. Otherwise the anime is good.

I think most of their games suck though. Then again I only happened to play the bad ones such as Digimon Rumble 4 (Was on sale) and I did try out both of their MMOs.

I'm not that big on Digimon but I like the series.

This. I watched the show religiously and liked the fact that most Digimon didn't permanently stay in their forms and the fact that they were sentient and had human intelligence.

When I was a kid, I had card games of Pokemon, Yugioh, and Digimon.
I went to the Pokemon TCG Leagues and occasionally ran into players who had other cards as well. Digimon was my favorite.
Shortly afterwards, I lost everything in a fire and spent years traveling around from foster family to foster family. Went to college and focused on my portfolio and career and finally things slowed down enough that I picked up where I left off.
Pokemon is great, but I wish I had more friends to play with. Yugioh seems to have gotten all kinds of convoluted and insane to the point I feel like Im reading a contract just trying to use a Spell Card. And Digimon...
I cant find anyone that plays Digimon. I was surprised the cards still existed. Ive been looking for months for something to fill the emptiness. Ive been tempted to watch the newer anime
