If the theory of evolution is in the Pokemon world and Humans are Pokemon that have become incredibly smart. Does this mean that you could beat the shit out of someone then trap them in a pokeball?

possibly. personally, i've always figured that pokemon have some unique biological element that the pokeball uses as a catalyst to turn them into energy that humans themselves lack, but if that's not the case, it seems reasonable.

Humans evolved biologically by accident, most pokemon were a deliberate creation by Arceus at the beginning.
Pokeballs take advantage of unique biological properties which makes human capture impossible.
That's my head-canon anyway.

But Arceus is behind the creation of Sinnoh/Universe (possibly for the latter). And he doesn't have similar properties to mew at all.

Arceus created Dialga, Giratina, and Palkia and supposedly used them to create the World.

Mew could be the first Pokemon, if you look at those four as creator Gods rather than regular mons.
