It doesn't have a hidden ability in Gen V, thus you can only transfer Color Change Kecleons, and Ability Capsules don't work with HAs.

Though I always wondered if the ability would change if you transferred a DW Kecleon...

If they patch the Transporter, and I really doubt they will, the first thing to go down will be the HA bit validation. Couldn't they check if the Pokémon actually HAS the ability with it?

But anon, if you transfer a kecleon FROM THE DREAM WORLD to gen VI, it'll get protean on transfer regardless of whether it had color change in Gen VI. What you generated was legal.

Oh my bad. I'm dumb.
Nothing would happen if you transferred over a DW Kecleon from 5th gen btw. It just doesn't have the byte for hidden ability.

You can force it by manually adding it in pokgen, but one actually caught in entree forest in game would stay color change.
