If it treated me tenderly all of a sudden, I'd know that my lifespan was short. If it acted the way it normally does, then I could rest easy knowing I'd live a normal long life. Of course, there is always the case that it immediately abandons me, in which case, I'd assume that I had a short life span and it didn't want to cope with losing someone dear to it.
Of course, all of this is assuming my Gothitelle and I had a strong bond. I would not expect a freshly caught Gothitelle to show much concern either way. However, I am the type of trainer who is loving, so, I'm sure me and Gothitelle would be close, meaning, the above paragraph holds true... at least for me.
