Just caught a shiny Hoothoot right the fuck outta nowhere within the first hour of starting SoulSilver. My second one ever, the first being a Baltoy.

Been playing since Red.

In gens 2-5 I didn't find a shiny.

Beat X, decided to finally break that shit when I MM'd for a shiny Honedge.

It came out 6IV and shiny at exactly 300 eggs. I was psyched as shit, he's level 100 now.

Since then I've gotten all fishing shinies, multiple FS shinies, and one random encounter. I've been also trading shit around for other people's kalos shinies, and now I have 1 full box of all my favorite Pokemon in their shiny form.

Feels good man.

A friend sent me a shiny spoink as a consolation prize. But when I imported it to X, and checked it's IVs, it was perfect and had a good nature, too convenient to be legit.

Funny story a month or so ago I was looking for a gulpin on the gps and found someone with a shiny wanting just a squirtle. I have never had a shiny in all my various games so i figure what the hell. It ended up having bad nature and "decent" ivs. I groan and figure regardless ill train it cause its my first shiny.
I throw it in the box and go back to what I was doing, hatching koffings with painsplit. Not 5 eggs after that trade do I get a shiny koffing! Its got 4 outstanding ivs and needless to say it is my new favorite thing ever.

The Kirlia was the only one I actively hunted. Spent a few days doing that chaining shit. Paid off big time. Fuckers on that route knew teleport too, so I used a master ball. I wasn't playing around. I logged so many hours on Sapphire also. Probably why I caught 2 shiny zigzagoons, and 2 shiny Golbats. I was grinding victory road when the second Golbat showed up. I don't think anyone was ever that annoyed at seeing a shiny.
