Its Attack with LO is the equivalent to base 131. For that one point of difference you take LO recoil every turn where with Mega Latios you get 100/120 defenses and no LO damage.

To be honest, we don't even know for sure if mega latias/latios is "legit" or if it's just obsolete data they forgot to clean from the rom, kinf of like lots of HA that are technically there but were never releases, and some were even different from the hacked ones when they actually showed up.

No, they can be traded via normal local/wi-fi trading, just not over Wonder Trade or the GTS. It's just like any other Mega Stone, I learned that as I tried to play the pre-Bank GTS Legend Trade with a Mewtwonite X

The unreleased hidden abilities are there because there's a flag that calls for it on every Pokemon.
Alternatively, a Pokemon can simply not have a mega.

I use Dusclops with WoW and Protect. If Kang is running Sucker Punch, I don't even need to Protect - bitch cant hit me. If they have Crunch I alternate Protect and Hex, it's at least a 3KO I think. Sucker Punch only means they have to switch out and the switch in gets burned, unless it's immune (which is only Fire types iirc). EQ isn't SE so it's even less damage.

You clearly never used a game genie and other action replaysback in the days. It's super fucking common, they program things thoroughly, then in the beta and alpha test something is retooled, the game doesn't give you something yet you unlocks it and it works perfectly with the code hack.

XY reeks of rushed last minute adjustments so not unlikely at all. The model and item database is the last thing you clean when making adjustments. Especially if they want to keep the idea for later. Really nothing especially surprising. It's acceptable since the game itseld doesn't naturally allows it. It's way more expected than shit like Missigno.

Latios and Latias are supposed to be twins, so are they literally the last of their kind? Are these two a one of a kind unique pokemon to the universe like Mewtwo?

Will Latias ever grew to be as big as Latios or is it sexual dimorphism in their species?

Were their parents also Latios/Latias or are they like original dragon that were different??

I could understand things like Missingno, where it was unintentional, or ???-type Arceus who didn't have an item to activate that form, but the Latis just seem too polished to not be intentional.

Extremely common. Look at all those games at E3 that gets released without half the things shown in demos. It was done at some point, then put on hold, then forgotten when the game took another direction.

Lati@s have the same legendary status as Heatran. There is probably a healthy population somewhere. They don't even need to be especially rare, they're just REALLY good at hiding. They probably breed, just not under the circumstances of the Pokémon day care. They're different appearences come from sexual dimorphism indeed, think Nidoran.
