I'm going to do one per gen. My criteria is "what Pokemon would piss off the least amount of people if it was removed?"

>Gen 1
By far the hardest gen because even the stupid Gen 1 Pokemon have fanbases. You can't just cut, say, Farfetch'd or Voltorb. It's more important to blend into the background than be a shittily-designed pokemon for the purposes of this question. My answer is... Venonat. I assume that this just turns Venomoth into a 1-stage evolution rather than cutting it out as well.

It almost feels like cheating to say one of the baby pokemon. Let's go with Elekid.

>Gen 3
This is a little harder than I thought it would be. Most of the boring Gen III pokemon are connected in some way to another pokemon, where removing them would maybe piss some people off as making that other pokemon completely meaningless.I'm of course talking about shit like Solrock and Lunatone, or Seviper and Zangoose, or any of the Regis. I could say Luvdisc, but I feel like some people appreciate it for its flaws. It's like the mascot for pokemon that were intentionally made to be space fillers. I'm going to puss out and just say Wynaut.

I didn't like the second installment of PMD games quite as much because of him and the rest of the guild. I didn't want a total institution simulator in my Pokemon game.

I just didn't enjoy it as much as the first. It's got good mechanics and I enjoyed the areas of the story with Grovyle.

Chinchou. Poor little fella's doomed to obscurity, not because people don't necessarily love it, but because no one has strong feelings for it either way. People might slightly care if it got removed, but no one would ever even find out if it was the case 'cause no one would ever check for it.

That's true for a lot of unevolved pokemon period. People remember them because 1) they've got a cute first form, or b) their final form. I feel like most pokemon fall into the latter.

Whenever a thread about Sinnoh's evos to older pokemon pops up, there is always a handful of people who claim that Gallade is completely unnecessary and redundant as an addition, so I guess that he qualifies.

That is, unless that "handful of people in every such thread" encompasses a grand total of ~2 anons and I'm once more exaggerating the hate factor for no reason.

Because that would have made him even worse. With his stats, Fairy/Fighting would have made him NU.

But most importantly, such retype would require his primary type to be dropped.

Gallade was already RU by the time gen5 has been wrapped up. So far he has retained this position, rather than lose it.

What is it with this 'Gallade doom & gloom' running rampant among Galladefags these days? Around the XY's hype pinnacle/release I recall being the only whiny Galladefag doomsayer around, now I'm seeing a bunch of such doomsayers whenever Gallade is brought up in discussion.
