How the fuck do EVs work?
I used to think it was a straightforward thing, 4 EVs = 1 stat point higher, but I'm using the Marriland Stat Calculator now and my Jynx needs 28 Health EVs just to go up 4 points in HP(To get it to 144, a leftovers number, since I'm running a Lovely Kiss/Sub/Nasty Plot set).
What's going on? Has there been some change or is there something I'm missing?

Going to guess your jinx isnt level 100. The 4EVs to 1 only applies there.

You will only really notice once it's at level 100.

4 evs=+1 stat

What about the fact that online play lowers your 'mon's levels to 50? Wouldn't that mess with the numbers?
I used a level 50 Jynx in the example since that's what it will be set to most of the time

If you want one of those hp values that take less spike damage, you would just need to mess with it. I ASSUME its 8evs to 1 stat at 50

1) Breed a new lv.1 one that has 0 evs.
2) Super Horde EV training time
3) Check on bottom screen (super training) to see if you distributed all the ev points
4) Level up to 50

I'm guessing the OP's problem is that since Game Freak are as retarded as they are, your Pokemon aren't made Level 100 for online battles, and therefore the HP, EVs and other important stats of 'mons become completely skewed.
Good luck actually getting a reply here OP, 2/3 of the players here only bother with the fucking simulators

You clearly didn't read my post at all. I already know how to frigging breed for IVs and EV train, I was just wondering how to get around the fact that Pokemons' stats become vastly warped compared to their numbers/calculators at Level 100

Nah but seriously OP There's nothing you can do, the recommendations by Smogon and shit like that are only for their Level 100 simulators, you're better off just biting the bullet and going 4/252/252

Well fuck you then, I told you how to be sure to correctly train it and check if you did it right.
In a lot of websites there's the option to choose the level and the ev spread, so if you insert the level you're at and your ev spread you'll be sure that you didn't fuck up. What I'm trying to say is that 4evs don't boost you +1 if you aren't lv.100, so obviously you won't see the results

Something worth looking into though would be if EVs balance themselves out if you're already at level 100 and get lowered to 50, anyone know anything about this?
