That's not what I meant idiot

You can get rid of confusion by switching out. You cannot stop the opponent from boosting evasion without specific Pokemon or moves. It's the reason why people use Swords Dance and not Screech.

I think the reasoning is that pokemon who can utilize swagger has increased a lot this gen.

The problem is that, much like evasion, it turns the battle into just a big dice roll, especially once the swaggerer takes that turn of you switching out or hitting yourself to use thunder wave, substitute or hazards.

What's more, there's effectively no way to counter it except hope the dice lands in your favor. There are no pokemon with Own Tempo which are viable in higher level play. Even if you bring one, it likely won't even be able to counter the swaggerer, let alone other threats in the tier.

You don't need an Own Tempo user. Just something with a Thunder Wave immunity (or Foul Play resistance) and low Attack, like Sylveon and Rotom-W.

The problem lies in that Sylveon can do very little to a klefki, as the normal moveset only has hyper voice for offence. Rotom-W is solid, though.

Prankster SwagPlay can beat the shit out of someone just trying to attack or boost, but it is beatable.

VoltTurn cores really fuck with SwagPlay, especially VoltTurners who are immune to paralysis. You remove the confusion and the sub in one turn, 2 turn gain for 1 and the Swagger user needed to reduce their health to get the sub up.

The other thing that Swagger struggles against is high bulk, low attack. Even a +4 Foul Play will often do 25%-30% damage to Pokemon in that category.

Magic Bounce works, but not as well as expected because Foul Play is SE against most Magic Bouncers.
