Right, so here's this list I mentioned!

I decided I wanted to try to get a shiny of every feline Pokemon, but I've only included the most obvious ones. Any thoughts?
What about Absol, Eevee(lutions), Zangoose? Should they be included?
Anything else I'm missing?

My luck isn't that great. Had to quit my Meditite hunt because I was getting frustrated, and the Bunnelby hunt would have ended a fuckload sooner had I payed attention and didn't release the first shiny Bunnelby. In hindsight, losing the first one may have been a blessing in disguise.

I'd say Espeon, Leafeon and Vaporeon are cat-like enough to merit being added to the list, but that's up to you. Then there are legendaries like Mewtwo that could be added if you want to SR in another game, and Raikou and Entei are based off of big cats.

This is wrong...
You need to defeat or capture the Pokemon to continue the chain. Just running resets it every time. Also, fish in tight dead ends- think the opposite of a peninsula.

It's delightful. It also have a neat as fuck difficulty setting that lets you toggle receiving exp, job points and adjust the rate of encounters. You can turn random encounters off entirely if you want. You'll have a hell of a time gaining levels but you can do it if you want. There's been once or twice where I've just gone, "Nope. I'm done fight. I'm exploring now." turned the encounter rate down to -100% and just wandered off.

Beyond that, there's a bunch of different jobs and neat little features that are worth looking at. I can't recommend it strongly enough, but I'd suggest checking out the demo even if you're a little wary. It's free and you'll see if you enjoy the combat and the job system.

It's much closer to the FFT job system than the Fire Emblem job system.

You get the skills and inherent ability from your current job. You get the skills from a sub-job you choose. You also assign support abilities. You start with the ability to assign one of these but gain more over time. It's lovely.

I like the story and the characters so far. They're quite endearing. I'm not particularly far into yet but it hasn't really unfolded into something groundbreaking just yet. That being said, I wouldn't go into it expecting a revolutionary story, but rather just a solid one. I find it serviceable and enjoyable in any case.

Reminds me more of FFV. Think FFV jobs mixed with FFIX nostalgia. The environments - especially the towns - are gorgeous. I'm really enjoying it, the jobs are fun and inventive (I'm close to getting an odd one I haven't seen before) and the story is fine. The characters are what make it for me, but Agnes can be annoying sometimes. She does redeem herself every now and again. I don't like Airy very much though. If you liked old FF and like JRPGs like Pokemon, give the demo a try. I'd recommend the game to anyone with that background. Also, the bosses are FANTASTIC.

To celebrate, I thought I'd maybe do a little giveaway. I still have three shiny Flabebe left from my hunt, and they're just gathering dust in the box, so why not give them away!

As far as I know all Kalos deerlings are pernamently stuck as spring ones. The only way to get a different forme is to import it from gen V (and it gets passed down on offsprings if you try to breed it).

My Greninja. It took me ages, and I didn't have a foreign Ditto. I had two Froakie, both Protean with 31 IVs in Sp.Atk and Speed. My Froakie hatched with Sp.Atk, Sp.Def and Speed, so that was pretty cool. I told my self "Never again", but to weeks later I was going for Swirlix.

Guys; I'm conflicted and need some help. So I have been on and off MM'ing a Shiny Vulpix because I like the way it looks, but after reaching the 11th box of them last knight, I was considering moving on to a different shiny since I hold no real affection to Vulpix or Ninetails. Should I keep going or move on? If I move on, I'm going to start MM'ing a Shiny Magnemite since I actually use Magneton and I really like its shiny.

TL;DR: Should I give up on MM'ing a Vulpix 11 boxes in that I may not actually use that much in order to move on to a Magnemite that I would actually use, or do I stick it out?

Being 11 boxes in has no relation to how quickly you are going to get a shiny. You are just as likely to get a shiny on your first box as you are on your 12th.

I didn't hear about shiny hunting until I started browsing /vp/, none of my friends shiny hunt. My first MM was Furfrou, still my favorite shiny so far. I was such a n00b, I didn't even try to breed for stats at first and even now it has a crappy nature and only four decent stats. I did approximately thirty boxes before I started actually keeping track, for a total of 55-60 ish. Overall though, I've loved shiny hunting ever since!

Favorite non-Poké game is probably a tie between Zelda Windwaker and FFX.

I bred for shiny Eevee. Without everstone or destiny knot. I succeeded after less than 500 eggs and I was incredibly happy about it. I evolved him into Sylveon.

When I was 7 years old I was obsessed with swimming and developed a weird fixation on mermaids. When I saw Vaporeon for the first time my mind was blown and it became my favorite pokemon ever. It still is. And my shiny Vaporeon is my favorite mon to battle with.

I tried it first in 4th gen with several pokes (the three starters, Shinx, Magikarp and Buneary), but the one that caught my attention the most will be explained on the next answer.

Shuppet. First shiny met in Mt. Pyre's summit (Sapphire) while looking for a Chimecho. I caught it and cherished it until the cartridge holding it has been stolen. I then aimed to MM it, box by box. And it came back. With the same sex and nature as the stolen one, plus another shiny Shuppet. I now have three female Shuppettes.

I'd say Final Fantasy V. Spent days on that one. I still have to end Bravely Default to see if it's truly the FFV spiritual successor people are telling me.
