>>18193343>>18193343The Helix Fossil joke originated in everyone's favourite internet fad, which, like all fads, was entertaining for about 2 days, called Twitch Plays Pokemon. Or TPP for short. Users input commands for the player into a chat, and the player is programmed to respond to said command. Due to the chaotic and uncontrollable rate of input created by the now usual 10k+ viewers, and the distinct input delay, all the idiotic viewers, which individuals deem as 'reddit users', due to the smash hit the phenomenon has become, the player is often found preforming ridiculous and erratic movements which last for 4 hours. One of the possible, more common events is that in a battle, the player will proceed to open the bag and use the Helix Fossil, which obviously cannot be used in battle. In order to create some form of evidence that they are 'in on it', the meme-spawning mongoloids at reddit decided to create a meme out of this occurrence, and thus the Helix Fossil meme was created.
Now, like every meme, a lot of the underage, unfunny internet majority are sprouting this meme on anything moderately related to Pokemon, related to TPP or otherwise. The ironic part is that most of the users of this meme literally have no other relatable material to sprout, as they possibly don't like Pokemon as a franchise or game at all, and are sprouting it for the sake of looking hip and modern.
Or at least that's what I've seen.
