I have had Gengar as a bro since Gen 1 an they banned his mega. They say it's because of shadow tag, but there are already teams full of mon that can use moves to combat it. U-turn, Baton Pass, an Volt Switch are moves almost on every team. Not to mention it can get worked by ground moves since it loses it's levitate ability.

I'm actually in sort of the opposite boat. Scyther is my favorite pokemon and I'm always looking for good ways to use him but everyone thinks I'm an idiot for not using Scizor. I'm coming around to liking Scizor, too, but I really wish Scyther could legitimately be its own thing. Maybe one day they'll make an attack version of Eviolite or give access to a wider range of moves or something.

Forget Mega Pinsir. My pinsir from gen V was ev trained randomly, and it turns out Special Defense was just about maxed out. NOTHING can be done against it. If the attack is 95 or below, it wion't OHKO it.
