I encountered my frist shiny ever, and exited the safari and encountered another one in the same safari right after. So, should you exit and enter a safari after x amount of encounters, or should you stay for as long as possible?

That's just high luck, nothing else. I've got several shinies after lots and lots of encounters, only getting out for heal when my O-Power is empty and I need to PP heal.

Still, that's an interesting theory. Maybe should we all try that during one or another weekend ?

I also hatched two shiny Espurrs while breeding for stats, didn't hatch another one again for 60 boxes until I hatched Alice's 9th female and then the infamous male.

So I wanted to get the oval charm to make my egg collecting and subsequent Masuda Method-ing faster, so I grabbed my trusty Doublade (False Swiper) and biked into the grasses of Route 7. My goal was Ducklett and Psyduck since I didn't have either of them and I needed their evolved forms.

After a few Flabebe which I ran from, I suddenly ran into a shiny Ducklett! It's a lot redder than it was in Gen V, though she still has purple "pants".

After I caught her I went to Kiloude and checked IVs. She's "Alert to Sounds" so I was hoping for perfect Speed IVs, but while she does have both Special Attack and Speed as highest IVs, neither of them are 31. (she is "relatively superior" though so that's good)

Sadly I do not have pictures for /shw/ because I don't have a way of taking a picture on this. Also sorry if this post is long and/or boring.

There is a variable that determines which safari is 'lucky'. In the lucky safari, one of the 3 pokemon that appear there will be shiny on the first encounter of it's species (or it just has a higher rate). The other safaris have the same rate as wild pokemon. Once you find a shiny, the value changes to another safari (or it changes after a certain time period).
This explains why changing safaris after hunting a lot sometimes gets you a shiny and why safari shinies sometimes appear right after entering the safari.

I guess I'm just patient for this sort of thing. Got 3 shiny bibarels and a Gyarados (which didn't even have moxie) until I finally got Frogadier.
It has torrent which is a shame though.

The things I have gotten in safaris without looking ended up being pretty cool. Sneasel in a safari was my first shiny I ever found through a method other than chain-fishing. And I got a cascoon there too which I didn't expect to be much but turned out to be pretty awesome when it evolved into a Dustox.

Right now I have Drought Ninetales, an Aipom that will soon become an Ambipom with Skill Link (and I don't think that can be changed to Technician with Ability Capsule because IIRC SL is its HA), Lightningrod/Intimidate Manectric, Frisk Pumpkaboo soon to be a Gourgeist. Manectric has HP Ground so I'm gonna run Bolt/VSwitch/Overheat/Signal Beam instead of HP Ice.

So I was wondering if anyone has one or two recommendations on the last two team slots (no overlapping types and good synergy of course) so I can get started on my next breeding project. Thanks.
